I always struggle finding the right foundation colour for me, I originally always bought high end foundation such as Clinique and MAC but when those colours weren’t right, even after being matched by a make up artist I got fed up with spending so much money on a product that wasn’t perfect!
I’ve been looking around the drugstore for foundations ever since!
I picked up the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation last week so I thought, I’d do a little review for you all!
It is only £8.99 so the price is really appealing for me, considering I’m a student! I thought it was cheap enough to not have to worry if it wasn’t the perfect shade or finish!
I chose the lightest shade – 115– which kind of annoys me because I’m not super pale, I don’t understand what foundation girls with really pale skin wear, because as soon as I go a shade darker it gets too orange! I think my skin is very yellow under toned and foundations don’t cater for that so well.
The shade is pretty good, still not perfect, it’s still a little pink for my skin but it’s a whole lot better than what I was wearing before!
After I bought this foundation I read a few reviews on it and everyone was saying that it didn’t last very well but I totally disagree with this! I think it lasts really well! I’ll put it on in the morning and by the afternoon/evening it is still pretty much perfect, obviously you can tell it’s not freshly applied but it’s nothing to worry about!
The finish is just normal I would say, it hasn’t got a matte effect but it also doesn’t leave me looking dewy! I love dewy skin on other people but I’m not sure about it on me, I feel as though I look greasy so I think this foundation has the perfect finish, as matte foundation can also make me look a bit dry!
I’d say the coverage is medium, which is fine for me, I probably wouldn’t recommend this for someone who loves full coverage as it is quite watery but the medium coverage is perfect for me, it covers all my blemishes and my uneven skin tone.
The only downside to this product is that I’m not keen on the smell, but I can get over this! I can only really smell it when I’m applying it but after that it’s fine, you can’t smell it at all once it has dried!
Overall I’d highly recommend this product, especially if you’re on a tight budget like me!
Have you got any tips for finding the perfect shade? Have any of you got any suggestions for people with yellow under toned skin?
I still don’t have a holy grail foundation, I’d love to find one, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!
